Selectronic & LG Chem to offer Australians more flexible energy solutions
On and off-grid solutions now available for the new & retrofit market

Sydney, Australia, 24 April, 2017 – LG Chem, Ltd., one of the world's leading manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries have announced compatibility with Selectronic, Australia's leading provider of battery inverters.

The LG Chem RESU/Selectronic pairing will provide consumers with a quality solution to not only reduce their electricity spend, but also can provide a steady flow of power during grid outages.

The collaboration was formed on the single mindset and need for improved energy storage solutions within the Australian market. Using a Selectronic SP PRO battery inverter with LG Chem RESU batteries will provide much needed power security to consumers – this combination will ensure that people have back-up power during blackouts and extreme weather.

"We're excited to now be compatible with the leading Australian inverter manufacturer," said Jamie Allen, Business Manager, Australia and Pacific, at LG Chem. "Selectronic has over 35 years of providing Australian-made energy storage solutions for both on- and off-grid applications. It's an exciting prospect to see the two companies come together to provide such flexible solutions."

This storage solution is ideal for the retrofit market; it can be added to any existing grid-tie solar system or incorporated into a new installation. As feed-in-tariff's wind down, there are no longer incentives driving consumers to send their excess energy back into the grid. This solution allows consumers to regain control over their electricity consumption by storing their solar-generated energy to reuse at night and during peak times. People may even choose to go completely off-grid with LG Chem and Selectronic.

"Over the years, we've seen a lot of lithium solutions come and go," said Rod Scott, CEO at Selectronic. "We've been in the industry for a long time, and are careful to put out the right solutions and partner with the right companies. Working with LG Chem was a good opportunity and a great fit for Selectronic".

The integration of LG Chem's RESU series with Selectronic's world-class inverter has gone through significant R&D and field testing by both companies to ensure the Australian consumer was getting the best solution. There are more than 30 field test sites around Australia enjoying the benefits of this rock-solid combination.

"It's easy to put out a solution and not be around to back it up," said Scott. "Working with LG Chem means we're working with a trusted brand that has a proven track record. It's an exciting time with a lot of technologies and companies in a very fast moving market, so it's important to sort through what is and isn't a reliable solution."
