Statement: Electrical safety recall
September 2022
LG Energy Solution Australia has been undertaking a safety recall of certain residential energy storage system batteries with cells manufactured between 29 March 2017 and 13 September 2018.
The affected batteries may overheat and catch fire and cause injury or death and/or damage to property. Incidents have occurred and caused damage to property.
The recall was announced on the ACCC's Product Safety website on 25 February 2021 and later LG Energy Solution Australia expanded the recall in August 2021 to include additional models. A recall notice is available on the Product Safety Australia website here.
Affected battery models include the RESU batteries which are LG branded systems and "S/A" (stand-alone) batteries which were used as battery components in other brands of residential energy storage products.
